Koala Living (formerly Koala & Tree) is a retail business with 9 showrooms across Sydney and Melbourne dedicated to providing luxury, unique and exotic pieces of furniture to everyday Australians.
Koala living required a minimal, clean and user friendly website design to showcase its product range. I used Adobe XD to design and create a high-fidelity prototype and design of the website for both mobile and desktop layouts.
Using Adobe XD enabled me to create interaction animations to simulate the user experience. Watch the desktop and mobile videos below to view more.
Catalogue
Product Catalogue / Photography / Art Direction / Design & Layout
The newly designed catalogue was to reflect and showcase the full range of products available in their showrooms.
As their sole designer and photographer, I was tasked with the art direction of the photography, design and layout.
In-store Signage
Koala & Tree required a refresh of their yearly campaign signage and creative. We needed signage which was fun, bright, colourful and bold to attract customers passing by their retail stores.
Photography
Managing the photography and post-production was a crucial part of my role at Koala & Tree. There was a large furniture selection which needed to first be staged and then photographed, followed by post-production. These images were used throughout various email, social, and print marketing campaigns.
We were on a tight budget and time-frame which meant a lot of the furniture had to be superimposed into various backgrounds and settings.
Email Marketing
Utilising the customer database and ongoing growing email list acquired through instore sales and social media campaigns, we had a niche and engaged email list which made our email marketing efforts very effective.
Weekly emails were sent to showcase new products and sale opportunities. I was responsible for the entire process of photography, email database management design and build of the email.
Gift Cards
A versatile range of gift cards were designed to meet allow customers to tell their friends about Koala & Tree no matter the occasion.
Social Media
Furniture is predominantly a design led product, which lends itself well to social media marketing with its visual focus. In particular, facebook & instagram advertising was a big success for the brand.
We used the platform for various paid and organic posts. Through the use of quantitatively testing measurable results with facebook ads manager, we were able to identify which strategies were working best and scale up our ad spend.
I was responsible for creating & conceptualising digital advertising strategies and reporting results with facbeook ads manager.
